Episode 31: The Flash / DCEU / Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Does THE FLASH epitomize the failure of the DCEU? The Brothers examine this question during a roundtable discussion of Andy Muschietti’s new film starring Ezra Miller. After some general takes on the film’s success (or lack thereof), they focus on the film’s performances, chronology, strange tone, CGI cameos, and examine the confusing history of the DCEU writ large. They also dig deep into the film’s use of false nostalgia and comparisons to the MCU, specifically SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME, before offering a brief review of SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE and pondering what’s next for superhero cinema.
